Alliance Chat
To communicate with members of the alliance when they are in the different various fleets, add our deep space alliance channel.  Most of our conversations happen there, so be sure to get in on the action by joining it.  Open the chat menu from the chat bar, click “Chat Settings…”, select the “Channels” tab, in the “Join/Create” box type “deep space alliance” with no quotation marks then click the “Join” button.  For detailed instructions with pictures, go here: http://deepspacealliance.blogspot.com/2012/08/alliance-chat-tutorial.html

We are an English language fleet, though ESL friendly.  Please be polite, keep swearing to a minimum, keep behaviour civil, and follow common sense.

Fill your fleet member comment from fleet menu > Roster with: country and time zone

Why? So, we can know when is the best time to schedule fleet events at hours where most of members log in.  It is also a nice thing to know at least which countries our fleet members call home.

Fleet Admirals
We have a number of veteran, knowledgeable members who are always willing to help.  Fleet admirals have a variety of duties, including taking the lead on recruitment, setting up teams and private fleet actions, keeping the conversation lively and at least slightly tasteful, crafting equipment for lower ranked members, managing fleet starbase and embassy projects, and helping to manage the fleet bank.

Fleet Bank
We keep a well-stocked fleet bank that comprises 2 inventories of unwanted items (which are open to everyone), ground from lieutenant to captain, space from lieutenant to captain, ground at admiral and space at admiral, plus data samples for crafting and a section for fleet donations.

The fleet bank is intended to help our newer, younger, and poorer players gain access to nice equipment that they wouldn’t normally be able to afford.  Admiral and general ranked players should not take items from the lower ranked inventories, and should not be using the bank as a source of easy income.  The Ground I through VIII, Space I through VIII inventories are to be stocked with green and blue items of lower rank for our lower ranked players, while the Ground IX through XII and Space IX through XII are for blue and purple equipment that people would actually use.  Items that are generally not desireable can go in the unwanted section where anyone is free to take what they wish (use CTRL drag to take items from stacks that are larger than your daily limit). We can see everyone’s withdraws and deposits so this will be monitored and corrective action taken if necessary.

If you have items that you don’t need you can put them on the bank > fleet bank > unwanted

* THIS IS OPTIONAL

    * from unwanted we fund the fleet rewards and bank with energy credits (ec)

  1. StarfighterJ I would say Now 10,000 fleet credit would be fine Cause embassy is done at the moment at tier 3. Also we are working on our last Tier 5 for Starbase, But subject to change if Tiers are increase as game progresses

  2. Not sure as to which option to comment as but my name is Nytlyt, federation side. Very new to STO. I found it easy to earn 10k fleet credit and think 20k is very reasonable as it does show dedication to some degree for wanting to be an actual member and to show actual effort of the member. If you can't hit 20k fleet credits or don't even make an honest effort to hit 20k mark then why should you get access to fleet bank / fleet whatevers??? anyways just my thoughts.

    1. agree, but others may choose other style of playing or play missions that not provide more items to contribute, an alternative i think is good, i only have trouble to pick the right sum

The only problem if they no active project to donate.
As I say in other comment, some FED fleets have 100k for promotion.

  4. Saju here, seems pretty fair at 20k, but as To'Kell said finding open projects that need what you can spare can be difficult at times.

  6. I understand contributing EC to become a member....I don't like the idea of people becoming seargents for 2,000,000 EC. Especially since that allows them to access fleet provisions.. something we all worked very hard for, for a measly amount of EC. Just my opinion though

  7. or at least make the ec equivelant to the fleet marks.... you said in another post that 1 million ec=20,000 ec.... so it should be 5 million ec to become a sergeant

  9. Ker'rang (DSKF)here. Keep in mind this is designed for people who find it difficult to earn fleet credits through contributions. And, it's only for the 2 lowest ranks anyway. So it's not like those using this method can afford to raid the store due to the credit limits. Besides this fleet doesn't seem to have a problem turning over projects very quickly, so lack of provisions shouldn't be that big a concern imho. I, for one am looking forward to contributing to this great fleet and access to the best gear will make it easier to do that
